About Hotel Indigo

Hotel Indigo is a boutique hotel brand owned by IHG Hotels & Resorts, launched in 2004, built on the idea that each hotel draws on the story of its own neighbourhood so that no two are alike. It has 198 open hotels with 26,726 rooms as of 30 June 2026, and just two open properties in the Middle East — Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown in the UAE and Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar in Oman — participating fully in the IHG One Rewards programme.

Store Description

The truth first: Hotel Indigo is not a promo-code brand

We will be straight with you rather than dangle a magic code. Hotel Indigo belongs to IHG Hotels & Resorts, and IHG does not run a public coupon system. It works through member rates and a loyalty programme. More importantly — and read this before anything else — booking through a third-party platform costs you loyalty points and elite night credit, the member rate, and your eligibility for the Best Price Guarantee.

In other words, with this brand specifically, booking direct is the offer. Any "cheaper" price on an external platform should have the value of the points, nights and benefits you are giving up deducted from it before you compare it with the direct rate. We say this as a coupons site, because accurate information serves you better than selling you an illusion.

What Hotel Indigo is, and why no two are alike

Hotel Indigo is a boutique lifestyle hotel brand owned by IHG Hotels & Resorts, launched in 2004 with its first hotel in Atlanta.

The brand's philosophy is built on the story of the neighbourhood each hotel sits in, which IHG expresses as "character and comfort, woven together by the spirit of the neighbourhoods we call home," under a design idea it calls "Storytelling, By Design." The practical result is that no two hotels in the brand are the same: each draws on local architecture and art, and its restaurants and bars are locally inspired. IHG describes its target guest as "the curious" — the traveller who wants to feel they are somewhere specific, not in a hotel room reproducible in any city.

Brand scale per IHG's own figures: 198 open hotels with 26,726 rooms as of 30 June 2026, plus 134 hotels in the development pipeline, with IHG saying the brand is on track to roughly double over three to five years.

Hotel Indigo in our region: just two hotels

This needs to be clear before you plan. According to IHG's official Hotel Indigo locations directory, there are only two open hotels in the Middle East:

  • Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown — Dubai, UAE.
  • Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar — Jabal Akhdar, Oman.

There is no open Hotel Indigo in Egypt. IHG operates nine hotels in Egypt under the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites brands, while Hotel Indigo Cairo in the New Administrative Capital is in the pipeline at 140 keys with an expected opening in 2033.

Hotel Indigo properties in Saudi Arabia have appeared in trade press as signed agreements, but they do not appear in IHG's directory of open hotels, so we treat them as announced projects rather than operating hotels.

If you want a more widely available IHG option in the region, see our Holiday Inn promo code page — another brand from the same group with a much larger footprint.

IHG One Rewards: how it works in detail

The loyalty programme is IHG One Rewards, with five tiers: Club (base), then Silver Elite, Gold Elite, Platinum Elite and Diamond Elite.

Qualification runs per calendar year:

  • Silver — 10 qualifying nights.
  • Gold — 20 nights or 40,000 elite qualifying points.
  • Platinum — 40 nights or 60,000 points.
  • Diamond — 70 nights or 120,000 points.

Base earning is 10 points per US dollar (or local equivalent) at standard IHG hotels, and 5 points per dollar at extended-stay brands such as Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites. Hotel Indigo earns at the standard rate, making it a full-participation brand for both points and elite nights. Elite bonuses stack on top of base earning and rise with your tier.

Redemption works through Reward Nights, priced dynamically in points with no blackout dates subject to room availability, and Points & Cash, where you combine your points with points bought at booking — and purchased points are non-refundable. There are also Milestone Rewards, earned every 10 qualifying nights from the twentieth through the hundredth in a calendar year, where you choose your reward, such as bonus points or a food-and-beverage credit.

What earns no points — read this carefully

This is the most important list on the page for anyone using a coupon or cashback site:

  • Complimentary rooms.
  • Bookings through third-party platforms (the Expedia, Priceline and similar category).
  • Tour-operator and wholesaler rates.
  • Group rates, unless paid individually.

So a booking made on an external platform earns you no points and does not count toward your elite nights.

Member rates and the Best Price Guarantee

The Member Rate is a members-only price, which IHG describes as available only when booking direct. Membership is free, it covers roughly six thousand hotels, and it comes with free Wi-Fi and direct-booking bonus-point offers.

The Best Price Guarantee is a precise mechanism whose conditions are worth knowing before you rely on it:

  • You must have booked through an IHG direct channel (site, app or call centre) at an IHG-branded hotel.
  • The claim must be filed within 24 hours of booking and at least 24 hours before standard check-in, via the official online form — email claims are not accepted.
  • The competing rate must be in the same currency, publicly available without any membership, bookable at the time of verification, for the same hotel, room type, dates, guest count and cancellation policy, and at least 1% lower than IHG's own lowest rate.
  • The remedy: IHG matches the lower rate and awards 5× points on the room rate, capped at 40,000 bonus points per claim (these don't count toward status and require membership).
  • Excluded: member-only, loyalty, group and corporate rates; opaque and auction sites; packages bundling a room with flights or meals; and resale sites. Properties in Mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan do not participate.

To be honest about a limitation: we could not confirm whether IHG's booking form has a dedicated promo-code field, and we do not reproduce the "corporate code" lists circulating online, because they are unofficial compilations and using one you are not entitled to can get your booking cancelled at check-in.

Cancellation policy

IHG's general standard is a 24-hour cancellation deadline before arrival across most of its brands including Hotel Indigo (Kimpton is 48 hours, and Mainland China properties run a same-day rule).

In practice IHG sells two rate shapes: flexible rates, cancellable up to the stated deadline without penalty, and advance-purchase or non-refundable rates, prepaid and not cancellable for a refund. The deadline is set per property and per rate and shown at booking, and some hotels impose longer windows — so the rate's own terms are the reference, not the general rule.

Reward Night cancellation follows the programme's terms, and points purchased for a Points & Cash booking are non-refundable.

Wafarna's tips

  1. Book direct, then do the maths. The member rate, points, elite nights and Best Price Guarantee all disappear on an indirect booking — add up their value before comparing prices.
  2. Don't buy a non-refundable rate for an unconfirmed trip. The gap between flexible and non-refundable becomes a total loss on any change.
  3. If you find a lower price, move within 24 hours. The Best Price Guarantee window is short and the claim must go through the official form.
  4. Check the cancellation deadline in the rate's terms rather than the general rule, since some hotels are stricter.
  5. Don't use corporate codes you aren't entitled to. You may be asked to prove eligibility at check-in.
  6. Widen your options in the region. With only two hotels here, see our Holiday Inn promo code page from the same group, plus Trip.com promo code and Wego promo code for broader hotel comparison.

We refresh Hotel Indigo offers on this page regularly, noting that hotel promotions are tied to seasons, booking windows and room availability, so one that works today can lapse without notice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there promo codes for Hotel Indigo?

IHG does not operate a public coupon system; it works through member rates and its loyalty programme. We could not confirm a dedicated promo-code field in the booking form, and we do not recommend using the "corporate codes" circulating online, as they are unofficial and you may be asked to prove eligibility at check-in.

How many Hotel Indigo properties are in the Middle East?

Only two are open per the official locations directory: Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown in the UAE and Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar in Oman.

Is there a Hotel Indigo in Egypt?

Not currently open. Hotel Indigo Cairo in the New Administrative Capital is in the pipeline at 140 keys with an expected opening in 2033, while IHG operates nine other hotels in Egypt under different brands.

Do I earn points if I book through a third-party platform?

No. Third-party platform bookings, tour-operator and wholesaler rates and complimentary rooms earn no points and do not count toward elite nights, and group rates earn only if paid individually.

How many points do I earn at Hotel Indigo?

Hotel Indigo earns at the standard rate of 10 points per US dollar or local equivalent, with elite bonuses added on top according to your tier.

What is the cancellation deadline?

IHG's general standard is 24 hours before arrival across most brands including Hotel Indigo, but the deadline is set per property and per rate and shown at booking, and some hotels impose longer windows. Advance-purchase rates are non-refundable.

How does the Best Price Guarantee work?

You must have booked direct with IHG, file the claim within 24 hours of booking and at least 24 hours before arrival via the official form, and the competing rate must be publicly available without membership, on identical terms, and at least 1% lower. The remedy is a rate match plus 5× points, capped at 40,000 bonus points per claim.
