What is EGT Chess?

EGT Chess describes itself as Egypt's leading professional chess equipment store, run by a team of chess players. Its promise is simple: handpicked pieces, boards and clocks that meet international tournament standards, priced fairly, and delivered to every governorate. Products come from established factories in Europe and China, and some are made in Egypt, all held to the same standard.

The catalogue is focused and easy to navigate: complete sets (bundles), chess pieces, chess boards, chess clocks, accessories and new arrivals. Pieces are weighted and come in wood and acrylic. Boards come as roll-up, folding leather and solid wooden options. Clocks are digital with tournament timing modes. Accessories include carry bags and even a chessboard mouse pad.

EGT Chess serves three main groups: individual players who want proper tournament equipment, parents buying a first chess set for a child, and clubs, schools, academies and training centres, which can request bulk pricing and official invoices. The team also gives advice on WhatsApp if you are not sure which set to choose.

What should I buy from EGT Chess?

Complete chess sets

The best value on the site. The Star International set at 699 EGP is an excellent first set for children and casual players, the Etihad bundle at 999 EGP steps up in quality, and the Professional Acrylic bundle at 1,799 EGP suits club and tournament players.

Chess pieces

Weighted pieces make a big difference to how a game feels. Star International pieces cost 599 EGP and Etihad Professional pieces 999 EGP, with wooden options such as German Knight pieces also listed.

Chess boards

Roll-up boards are light and travel-friendly, leather folding boards at 399 EGP look smart at home, and wooden boards suit collectors.

Chess clocks

Digital clocks with tournament timing modes, such as the LEAP PQ9903A, are essential for blitz, rapid and over-the-board training.

Bags and gifts

Carry bags from 349 EGP protect your set on the way to the club, and the chessboard mouse pad is a fun gift for any player.

How can I save more at EGT Chess?

• Buy a bundle, not separates. Complete sets save up to 751 EGP compared with buying each item on its own.
• Cross 1,500 EGP. Adding a clock or bag to a set can unlock free delivery anywhere in Egypt.
• Order as a club or school. Larger orders get special pricing and official invoices.
• Shop gift seasons. White Friday in November, Ramadan, Eid and back-to-school are good times to look for chess gifts.
• Avoid unnecessary refusals. Refusing delivery without a reason costs a 99 EGP return fee, so double-check your order.

Choosing and caring for your chess set

For beginners and children, a complete set with pieces, board and bag is the easiest start. For tournament practice, check that the king height suits the board square size and choose weighted pieces for stability. Keep wooden pieces and boards away from direct sunlight and humidity, wipe them with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and store pieces in their bag or box so they do not chip. Roll-up boards should be stored rolled, not folded, to avoid creases. If you are unsure, the EGT Chess team gives recommendations on WhatsApp.
