What is Mintra?

Mintra is an Egyptian home, sports and lifestyle brand. On its About page the company says it is a family-run business founded in 1989, built around value: affordable, good-quality products, fair prices and long-term relationships with customers. It also highlights investment in product development and modernised production.

The Mintra catalogue is broad. In the home section you will find folding furniture, lunch boxes and food storage, kitchenware, blankets, cleaning supplies, bathroom fixtures and garden items. Outdoor Essentials covers furniture sets, tables, chairs and cushions for balconies and gardens. The sports section includes travel bags, towels, bags, backpacks and water bottles. Mintra also sells footwear in lifestyle, walking, running and back-to-school styles for men and women, and its Talia line covers notebooks, discs, paper refills and stationery accessories, which makes it a popular stop for school and university supplies.

Mintra sells online with shipping all over Egypt and through six branches: Heliopolis, El Nozha, Maadi, Downtown Cairo, Dokki in Giza and Helmiet El Zaitoun. Branches open from 10 AM to 10 PM, and from 1 PM to 10 PM on Fridays.

What are the best things to buy at Mintra?

How can I save more at Mintra?

• Buy blankets in threes. The jump from 20% to 30% off makes the third blanket the best value, perfect for a family or for gifts.
• Cross the 500 EGP mark. In Cairo and Giza, orders above 500 EGP ship free, saving the 45 EGP fee.
• Shop the clearance section. Clearance and limited-time sale sections often hold the deepest discounts.
• Plan for seasons. Back-to-school for bags and stationery, winter for blankets, White Friday in November and Ramadan for home items.
• Call your branch first. Mintra recommends calling the branch to confirm stock and reserve the item before visiting.
• Join the newsletter. The "Join the Mintra Family" sign-up keeps you informed about new sales.

Blanket, bag and shoe care tips

Check the blanket size against your bed: 180 x 220 cm generally suits single beds and 220 x 240 cm suits doubles. Wash fleece and sherpa blankets on a gentle cycle in cold or lukewarm water and avoid high heat when drying to keep them soft. For backpacks, check the laptop compartment size against your device and avoid overloading. For sneakers, measure your foot in the evening and check the size details on each product page, as Mintra's FAQ does not include a size chart.
