What is Plume?

Plume is a family business that began by making tailored curtains and furniture before moving into the hospitality industry as a bedding supplier to hotels in Egypt, from Luxor to Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. Its materials are imported from Germany from Hanseatic Bedding, a hospitality bedding company, and Plume has produced and supplied five-star hotels on Hanseatic's behalf in and outside Egypt. Some products are made in Plume's own factory in Egypt, and others come from top-tier manufacturers.

The online store was created so families can enjoy a five-star sleeping experience at home. Categories include bed linens, towels and bathrobes, pillows, duvets, toppers, mattresses and beds, plus Bundles, a Shark Tank collection and Plume x Rkan artisanal pillows. Plume has a showroom at Eterna Mall in Mivida, New Cairo, open seven days a week by appointment.

Prices reflect hotel-grade quality: the Cloud Pillow is 2,393.30 EGP, the Soft Duck Feather Pillow 2,850 EGP, the Soft Plain White Hotel Bedsheet Set from 2,520 EGP, the German All-Year Duck Feather Duvet from 16,900 EGP, the German Winter Goose Feather Duvet from 35,097 EGP and the Plume Select Elite Mattress from 15,805 EGP.

Best things to buy at Plume

Pillows

Choose by firmness: soft, medium or hard. The best-selling compartmented pillow has outer layers of 90% down and an inner chamber of 95% feather for neck support, and Plume recommends two pillows per person. The Polydown set of two from 1,100 EGP is the most affordable entry point.

Duvets

Plume grades duvets by warmth. The 90% down, 10% feather duvet (Tog 14) suits cold nights and air-conditioned rooms; the 30% down, 70% feather all-year duvet (Tog 10) works in Egypt's winter and stays cool enough in summer; and the 5% down, 95% feather duvet (Tog 4) is for warm weather.

Toppers and mattresses

A feather topper is softer with medium thickness, while a fiber topper is thicker and firmer. For a complete upgrade, the Plume Select Elite Mattress starts at 15,805 EGP.

Bed linen, towels and bathrobes

Hotel-style white sheets from 2,520 EGP plus towels and bathrobes finish the five-star look.

How to save more at Plume

• Sign up for CLUB10: 10% off a duvet or mattress is a big saving at these price points.
• Buy bundles: the Elite Bundle includes a free Egyptian cotton bedsheet set and two Polydown pillows.
• Shop sale items first: pillows and duvets currently carry markdowns of up to around 35%.
• Time big purchases: White Friday in November and the run-up to winter are usually the best moments for bedding deals in Egypt, as are wedding seasons.
• Visit the showroom: book an appointment at Eterna Mall in Mivida to feel the fillings before you buy.

How to care for feather and down bedding

Use a protector on pillows and duvets, shake and fluff them daily to keep the loft, and air them in shade rather than strong sun. Spot-clean small marks and follow the care label for washing or professional cleaning. Plume's feathers and down are treated, anti-allergic by-products, and the duvet cotton is downproof, which helps keep fillings inside.
