How to Cancel Amazon Prime and Get a Refund
To cancel Amazon Prime, sign in, open your Prime membership page and choose "End membership on renewal". Your benefits stay active until the renewal date and then stop, with nothing further charged. If you have not used any Prime benefit and have not placed an eligible order, you qualify for a full refund according to Amazon's own policy. If you subscribed through a mobile operator or Google Play, you cancel with them — not with Amazon. (Verified 24 September 2026.)
How to cancel Amazon Prime: the steps
- Sign in to the Amazon site for your country.
- Open Your Account then Manage Prime Membership.
- Choose End membership or End membership on renewal with the date shown.
- Confirm until you see the cancellation confirmation message.
- Re-open the membership page a few minutes later to verify auto-renewal is off.
How to cancel Amazon Prime on the app
The same path exists in the Amazon app: side menu, Your Account, Prime membership. If you subscribed on Android through Google Play, the cancel option will not appear inside Amazon at all — the subscription is managed in Google Play's subscription settings.
How to cancel Amazon Prime membership and get a refund
Amazon's refund condition is explicit: if you have not used Prime benefits and have not placed an eligible order during the paid period, you are entitled to a full refund. If you have used fast delivery, exclusive deals or Prime Video, the membership simply runs to the end of the paid period with no refund.
| Situation | Outcome |
|---|---|
| No benefit used, no eligible order placed | Full refund |
| Used fast delivery or exclusive deals | Benefits continue to period end, no refund |
| Cancelled during the free trial before it ended | Never charged |
| Subscribed through an operator | The operator's own policy applies |
How to cancel Amazon Prime auto-renewal without losing what you paid for
If you want to use the benefits until the end of the paid period and then stop, choose "End membership on renewal" rather than ending it immediately. You keep the benefits until that date and nothing is charged afterwards.
Where to cancel if you subscribed through a third party
| How you subscribed | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| Vodafone Egypt offer | The Ana Vodafone app, or Vodafone customer service |
| Orange Egypt | Orange's own app or customer service |
| stc or Mobily (Saudi Arabia) | The operator's direct billing channels |
| e& (UAE, with eLife Ultra) | The e& UAE app |
| du (UAE) | du's own channels |
| Google Play | Google Play subscription settings |
Does cancelling one country's membership cancel the others?
No. Each marketplace membership is separate. Cancelling on amazon.eg does not cancel amazon.sa or amazon.ae if you hold those too — each must be cancelled on its own site.
Five mistakes that cost people money
- Cancelling one day after the renewal date — the full new period is charged.
- Deleting the card assuming that stops renewal, when Amazon may charge another saved payment method.
- Looking for the cancel button inside Amazon when the subscription came from Google Play or an operator.
- Deleting the app, which has nothing to do with the membership.
- Assuming one country's cancellation covers another.
Before you cancel
Cancelling means losing free fast delivery, early access to eligible lightning deals, Prime Video and Amazon Luna. If cost is the reason, compare the monthly and annual plans first — switching to the annual plan is often cheaper than leaving.
Before you end the membership, weigh what you lose against what you pay: the benefits are listed in Amazon Prime Egypt benefits and the fees in Amazon Prime Egypt pricing. If cost is the reason, check the running offers on the Amazon Prime Egypt promo code page first.
