SHEIN is an online fashion and lifestyle retailer founded in October 2008 by Chris Xu in Nanjing, China, and headquartered today in Singapore. It works on an on-demand model, releasing designs in small initial batches to gauge demand, and in the Arab region it serves Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Jordan, with a full Arabic storefront and twenty-two departments spanning fashion, beauty, home, electronics and baby essentials.

How to use a SHEIN promo code correctly

One rule covers most of the trouble people have: SHEIN allows only one promo code per order. That is stated explicitly on SHEIN's own help page, not an inference, and it means two valid codes still cannot be combined. So if you have more than one, try them in turn and keep whichever produces the lowest final total.

The code field also sits in an unusual place. The Promo Code box appears at checkout after you have entered your shipping details and chosen a payment method — not on the cart page. If you cannot find it, you almost certainly have not completed the shipping step yet. Once the code is in, confirm the total has actually dropped before you place the order.

Two more things that save time: codes do not apply to shipping fees or to the cash-on-delivery service fee, and some codes require a minimum order value. If the saving looks smaller than advertised, it is usually because it was calculated on the product subtotal alone.

SHEIN's business model is not a conventional fashion retailer's

SHEIN was founded in October 2008 by Chris Xu in Nanjing, China, first as ZZKKO, then Sheinside.com in 2011, shortened to Shein in 2015. It is now headquartered in Singapore, with Roadget Business Pte Ltd as its parent company.

What sets it apart commercially is a demand-driven rather than supply-driven model: new designs are released in initial batches of roughly 100 to 200 pieces to measure real demand, then reordered if they sell and retired if they do not. That explains two things shoppers notice — an enormous spread of designs on one hand, and sizes or whole products disappearing quickly on the other. If something fits and you like it, do not wait too long; a restock is not guaranteed.

SHEIN in the Arab world: countries, currency and language

SHEIN's official cash-on-delivery page confirms the service is offered to customers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Jordan — the clearest official evidence that these seven markets are served. Lebanon also appears in SHEIN's Middle East returns table.

A full Arabic storefront is available at ar.shein.com alongside an English regional storefront, and prices display in the local currency of the country you select — Saudi riyals, UAE dirhams, Kuwaiti dinars, Qatari riyals and so on. The site also detects your country automatically and localises accordingly. Jordan is the exception on the cash-on-delivery page, where order limits are quoted in US dollars rather than a local currency.

Departments and in-house brands

The Arabic storefront carries twenty-two main departments, including New In, women's clothing, plus sizes, kids, men's clothing, underwear and sleepwear, home and living, shoes, beauty and health, baby and maternity, jewellery and accessories, bags and luggage, sports and outdoors, home textiles, phones and accessories, electronics, toys and games, tools and home improvement, office and school supplies, appliances, automotive, and pet supplies.

SHEIN is not one label but several. Its group site lists Dazy for denim and Gen-Z trend pieces, Romwe for alternative aesthetics, MOTF for elevated essentials with a quality focus, Anewsta for premium womenswear, Musera for occasion wear, Glowmode for activewear and Aralina for casual and swim. The main label also branches into Curve for plus sizes, plus Tall, Petite, Vcay for holiday wear and EZWear for basics.

Bonus Points and the Wallet: two savings routes beside the code

Since one code cannot be stacked on another, the only legitimate way to compound savings on SHEIN is to pair a code with another balance. Two mechanisms do that:

Bonus Points — earned on purchases, and also for verifying your email, writing product reviews, app activity, daily check-ins and attending livestreams. They are redeemable against product cost only, not shipping, taxes or fees, and are capped at 50% of an order's total. Points expire, the soonest-expiring are spent first, and they are neither transferable nor convertible to cash. Note that returning an item claws back the points it earned, pro rata.

SHEIN Wallet — a balance tied to your account, funded mainly by choosing to receive refunds as wallet credit instead of back to your original payment method, and spendable on later orders. It is genuinely useful for frequent returners, because a wallet refund is usually faster than a bank refund.

Shipping and delivery times in the region

Per SHEIN's Middle East shipping page, the method offered is Express Shipping, with order processing of one to three days before dispatch and five to seven business days in transit. A realistic estimate from order to doorstep is therefore one to two weeks, and SHEIN itself warns that customs clearance and weather can affect it.

Free shipping works on an order-value threshold that differs by country: above it, shipping is free; below it, a flat fee applies. Because that threshold moves with the market and with running promotions, check it in your cart before paying rather than relying on a figure published anywhere.

Two more useful points: you have 60 days from delivery to report a missing or incorrect item, and SHEIN runs an on-time delivery service that compensates late deliveries with bonus points.

Returns: 15 days, and who pays depends on your country

The return window on the Middle East storefront is 15 days from receipt for most items in new, unworn condition. We stress that figure because many sites quote longer windows — 30 or 45 days — taken from SHEIN's US or UK pages, which do not apply here.

The cost of returning differs by market:

• UAE and Saudi Arabia — the first return is free; a fee is deducted from the refund on subsequent returns.
• Kuwait and Qatar — a fee applies per return.
• Oman, Bahrain and Lebanon — the customer pays the logistics provider directly.

Some items cannot be returned at all, including bodysuits, swimwear, lingerie and underwear, jewellery, beauty products, party supplies, DIY items and pet products (with limited exceptions such as scarves and bags), plus opened cosmetics, customised items, free gifts, and anything marked non-returnable on its product page.

Refunds go to your SHEIN Wallet or your original payment method as you choose, and take roughly 12 to 21 days overall between transit and inspection, plus two to seven business days for the amount to appear with your bank or card issuer.

Payment methods in the region

Cash on delivery is available in the seven countries named above, with a service fee and a minimum and maximum order value. One important detail: in Saudi Arabia payment at the door is by card on a POS terminal rather than in cash. Buy-now-pay-later is also available through tabby and Tamara, both of which list SHEIN as a partner store, alongside wallet credit and bank cards.
